I modified my Panko Bread Crumbs Mozzarella Cheese Sticks recipe to make Arla Dofino Cheese Poppers. The recipe is really simple and the Arla Dofino cheese is the perfect creamy texture for this recipe.

Arla Dofino Creamy Havarti Cheese Poppers


Ingredient List:

  • Creamy Havarti Arla Dofino Cheese
  • Panko Bread Crumbs
  • Flour
  • 2 eggs
  • Vegetable Oil


First you will want to cube the Creamy Havarti Arla Dofino Cheese in to about half inch cubes. Coat the cheese in an egg bath and then roll them in flour. After rolling them in flour coat them in the egg bath again. This time roll them in the Panko Bread Crumbs and set them to the side. Once you’ve complete this for each cube you need to place them in the freezer for about 20 minutes to flash freeze them. This step is important, if you don’t freeze them they will not melt properly. Heat your oil on the stovetop to medium. (You can adjust the temperature as needed) These cook fast, you want to pull them out once they are golden and before the cheese melts out. If the cheese is melting out before they golden reduce your heat.

Protip: These cool fast and taste best served hot and fresh but make sure they cool enough to not burn your mouth before you enjoy them! I use the keep warm feature on my toaster oven to keep them hot and fresh while I finish the rest of the batch.
