Tried It Thursday| The Four Braid Messy UpDo

Happy Thursday everyone! I’m introducing you to a new topic this week, “Tried It Thursday”. I always find things on the internet that I want to try. Sometimes I actually do the project or idea. Often times I wonder if the directions were a lie and if I’m only destined for failure. In this blog I will show you things I found and if they can be done according to the directions. I’m sure I will fail from time to time but I hope to have more successes than failures.

This week I tried the Four Braid Messy Updo. Simple enough for a first time Tried It Thursday right? Here’s the original pin from Pinterest.

Even though I only experienced a partial success I was pleased with the results and the directions. I think the original source did a nice job of putting together their tutorial. I think had the link back to their site worked I would have found the missing information. The pictures did attempt to accurately tell you how to do the Four Braid Messy UpDo but there are some things that require words to go a long with the image.

If you want to attempt this style make sure you braid your braids loosely. If they are too tight when you got to pull them apart like in the photo you won’t have the same look. I’m not entirely sure where you are supposed to tuck the ends but I tucked them under the back two braids. I tried tucking them under the opposite top/front braids but they popped out.

Quick Tip: Use the proper colored bobby pins. I just recently dyed my hair so the only bobby pins I had were to light for my new hair color.

I hope you enjoyed my first edition of Tried It Thursday. If you try this hair do please leave me a comment and let me know if you were successful. I’d love to see some of your all’s pictures of this hair do so please post a link to your image in my comments. Tried It Thursday is a great idea for a feature. This one doesn’t exactly work for me since I am bald, but look forward to future ideas!
