Topic Spill’s Flash Back Friday | DIY Stenciled Pregnant Skeleton Halloween Costume

Pregnant Skeleton DIY Halloween Shirt
This picture was taken hours before I attended a Halloween Party on 10/29/11. If you don’t know me in real life than you probably don’t know the significance of this party. I have this friend you see.. for the sake of this blog we will call her The Labor Inducer. It never fails; if you are pregnant and attend one of her parties you are going to have your baby within a few hours. I’m not the first victim of her labor inducing powers, it’s happened to many women before me. I think she earned a badge of honor and wears it proudly because she’s the best labor inducer known to man.

So long story story short I went to this party and within hours I was at the hospital going in to labor with our 2nd daughter. I really wish The Labor Inducer had her party a day later so my daughter could have been born on Halloween but it’s okay I forgive her. She did get me out of work that Monday so I guess we’re cool.

This Stenciled Pregnant Skeleton shirt is probably one of my favorite DIY projects I’ve ever done. It’s a pregnant skeleton who just so happens to be pregnant with a baby girl skeleton. Isn’t that just the coolest thing since sliced bread? When I saw that the original version of this shirt sold for like $30 the frugal in me nearly fainted on the spot. It didn’t take long before I found out that tons of other soon to be mommy’s preferred to hand make their shirt instead of spending a fortune on the original.

Please check back here next week because I’m going to teach you how to do your own DIY Stenciling. I’ve gotta go supply shopping this weekend so I can make some Yo Gabba Gabba shirts for a pair of babies who love Yo Gabba Gabba. Making your own stencils is easier than you may think and the cool thing about my technique is the possibilities are literally limitless.

I hope you come back next week for my tutorial! Have a nice weekend!
