Where my ideas meet reality.

Peeps Easter Cupcakes Project

I’ve been having a lot of fun with US Cake Supply’s  Chefmaster Liqua-Gel Paste Cake Color Set. I’ve already showed you how to make Rainbow Pancakes. Now I want to show you how to use US Cake Supply’s Liqua-Gel food coloring to make Peeps Easter Cupcakes.

Rainbow Pancakes Gel Food Coloring

First you’re going to need a Wilton Peeps Silicone Pan. I used a box of white cake mix and a tub of white frosting. I mixed the cake mix and divided it into 6 different cups. I put three drops of the gel food coloring in each cup. I used the rose pink, sunset orange, lemon yellow, leaf green, sky blue, and violet. Then while the cakes were baking I divided the icing into six cups but for the frosting, I only used two drops of each color.

The results were amazing! I love how vivid and bright these cupcakes are. They retain their color during the baking process much better than liquid food coloring. The food coloring gel doesn’t alter the flavor or the cake or frosting in any way.

These Peeps Easter Cupcakes look great frosted. We used the same colors for the frosting as we did the cupcakes. You could have fun with this a change the frosting colors to another color. I topped these Peeps Easter Cupcakes with some sprinkles.
