Status Products invited me to review their Gummy Bear Candy Mold. Status Kitchen bear mold will make you 50 quick and easy bite size treats. As a guide your mini bears will be the same size as standard gummy bears in packets (Just like Haribo size) but much better because you made them yourself! Have fun in the kitchen with your family making sweet or sour gummies, mini chocolate bears or even halal gummy bears.
I originally used the food.com Gummy Bear Recipe. The Gummy Bears were too tough with that recipe. I experimented with the amount of water. Using an extra 1/4 cup of water makes a nice soft Gummy Bear. Using an Extra 1/2 cup of water is more like Jello Jigglers. I’m going to search around for more Gummy Bear Recipes and see if I can find one that is soft and has a less Jello taste.
Using the dropper included with this mold was impossible. The Gummy Bear liquid cools too quickly. It forms a solid mass in the dropper. I had to resort to spooning the liquid in to the mold. This meant some of my bears molded together. All I did was cut the excess off with scissors. The blue I made with food.com recipe. The green I added 1/4 of a cup water to the recipe. The red I added an extra 1/2 cup to the recipe.
Getting the bears out of the mold was very easy. I like how easy it was to remove them due to the corn starch but I don’t like the excess corn starch on the Gummy Bears. I might try a non stick spray next time.
